Cruisin’ and Campin’

Summer has barely started, and I already need a vacation from my vacation. Thankfully, my bf and I are headed out for a week-long cruise to the Bahamas!! How exciting!! This will be our third cruise in 2 years on the same ship, Carnival Freedom. It’s becoming a home away from home as we get the same cabin every time because the location is prime for getting on and off the ship and it’s accessibility to parts of the ship we frequent. It is by no means a primo cabin. Why spend extra money on a cabin you are only sleeping in? We spend all our time being active, watching shows, listening to awesome music, and this year, we are watching a live Jeff Foxworthy performance in Nassau, Bahamas!! FUN, FUN, FUN!!

We are foregoing the excursions this time around unless we find something we can’t live without. They are super pricy to begin with, and in certain ports, there is a public beach nearby. Last summer we swam at the port beach at Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan. It was absolutely gorgeous with the crystal blue water and silky sand. After swimming and relaxing in the water, we took a nap under a palm tree on lounge chairs… ahhhhh the life.

We also spontaneously took an excursion in Belize: Cave Tubing! It was awesome!

When we get back, I plan to share pictures and tips for future cruisers. I’ll have plenty of time to write a few blogs as we will have one day to recuperate then off to the lake for two weeks of camping, or glamping. We kinda cheat with a travel trailer, running water, shower, air conditioning, and cable. I’m making this a working and relaxing vacation. My goal is to finish a crocheted afghan I started 2 years ago!! Yes, I am not a procrastinator, but simply a busy person who likes to take her time completing the 20 projects I have going at once. It’s just who I am. I am also studying for my elementary certification, and boy is it difficult. Those of you who think teaching is super easy, I’ll let you take a practice test and see what you know. AND of course write a few blogs.

Before we head out in our cruise, we decided to catch a Houston Astros baseball game. I mean, when you live 3 1/2 hours from Galveston, its best to stay the night somewhere close to the port. We found a downtown Houston hotel cheaper than ones in Galveston a few miles from the port. Instead of the regular cheap seats, we are trying out the Torchy’s Taco deck. Right in Center Field, one-level up overhead view of the bullpen, and Texas famous Torchy’s Tacos right here. What can be better?

For now, visit my post on couponing here.  With summer in full swing, there are tons of bargains to be had. Also, if you enjoy light entertaining reading, check out Ransom Note – Day 5. Tell me about your cruising and camping experiences. I would love to hear from you!

Peace, Love, and leave me a comment! Y’all have a good week, and Blog you next Saturday!!
